In June 2021, I was diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer at the age of 38.

Four years prior, I had left my job and became self employed.

Even though Critical Illness was something I had always recommended for my own clients, I didn’t have any health concerns for myself. So it wasn’t until September 2019, when I contacted Carrie to get my own CI plan in place.

I am so thankful that Carrie made sure I had a good CI plan. With all the current stresses of daily life and medical treatment, I’m grateful that I don’t have financial stress on top of it and instead, can focus on my family and my health.

I wish to express my deepest appreciation for the kindness and consideration that the staff at Neil & Associates has shown me over the past two years since the passing of my husband, Kirk.  Years ago, Rob invited us into his office to sit down and discuss insurance options for our young family.  He advised that we take out life insurance on ourselves, as well as disability insurance for Kirk considering his line of work relied upon his physical well-being.  Rob was very accommodating when it came to setting up our policies.  He visited our home on a couple of occasions to work around our busy schedules and brought out a nurse to conduct our medicals.  We took out modest plans and paid into them each year.

As time went on, Rob advised that we might want to consider increasing the amount of coverage we had.  Premiums were reasonable when you considered the payout available should you ever need to make a claim.  We took his advice and increased our insurance coverage.  Sadly, Kirk was killed in a snowmobiling accident in 2012, leaving me to raise our three young children on my own.  Fortunately our life insurance policy kicked in right away and I was paid out in full.  Grieving the loss of a loved one causes an immeasurable amount of pain and stress.  Grief compounded with financial worries would be unimaginable, and I am truly thankful I didn’t have to deal with that.  Rob and his staff at Neil & Associates were very helpful and professional when dealing with my needs.  They took care of every request in a very timely manner and always made me feel like they truly cared.

Years ago, we also took out a group benefit plan for our business through Rob, which has been greatly appreciated by our employees.  The group plan also paid out a death benefit to me with Kirk’s passing.

After some time had passed, Rob advised me on a few sound investments to help my life insurance money work for itself.  I am very pleased with the returns that these investments have afforded me.
